Biography

Katherine Whitman, BA, MA, MBA is a partner of Pomegranate International and a Professor of Economics and International Business at Mount St. Mary’s College, Los Angeles, California. Since 1987 she has been involved in executive development training programs for Chinese in the United States and China. She currently advises both American and Chinese companies on how to enter the China and US markets, select distributors and find working partners. Her range of industry expertise includes retail, furniture, lighting fixtures, textile, gifts/novelties, travel and education. She is involved in business and civic organizations promoting global business and is the Vice President of the Los Angeles Guangzhou Sister City Association.

Whitman has authored 12 books published in China and two in Greece and Korea. She has been honored by the City Of Los Angeles and the City of Guangzhou for her work to help promote the economic development and trade of both cities. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Gansu Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Department has appointed her as a special advisor. Guangdong University of Law and Commerce has made her a visiting professor.
